In early 2019 composer Jennifer Jolley (www.jenniferjolley.com) came into possession of a Moffenzeef Stargazer modular drone synthesizer. As part of her practice and learning, Jennifer began making and sharing a series of morning "jamm-z", recording live improvs with a patch and its tweaks. Her composer friend Steve Layton was smitten by these rough and ready improvs, but thought it might be fun to make slightly more elaborate pieces out of the original source recordings. The first worked so well that Steve was encouraged to continue, finding ways to transform and amplify while still keeping their roots firmly in Jennifer's original improvs. This album collects the results, interleaving Jennifer's originals with Steve's remixes.
