about

These are all tracks created between the middle of April and the middle of July, 2020. It's more than understandable that between sheltering from a deadly virus, fighting racial inequities, and watching a government in meltdown, some folk might find little motivation to create new work.

But my own path, for decades now, has been to simply create, day after day, week after week. Sometimes there are reflections of current events, but often it's just a matter of opening a blank canvas and following what arises. In the midst of times both good and bad, there's something centering, positive, and life-giving in the act of creation.

The events mentioned are still ongoing, so this is only the first part of a record of my own mind during these trials. I can't know what comes next, except to know that as long as I wake up in another morning, something else will come.
